Pretty Strong: a six week introductory series to Steel Mace Vinyasa

This is an introductory series designed for most people. Haven’t worked out in a while? Feeling like you’re not in super great shape? This is for you. Been moving for a while but curious about how to move with the steel mace? Here you go.

❋ Breathwork

Learn to maintain breath with movement. You will get your heart rate up. You will sweat. You will not throw up or pass out. Breathing is intentional, as are the movements.

❋ Mobility

Build strength, notice your shoulder muscles when you walk by a mirror, and feel your glutes activating in everyday life (after we wake them up).

The added load of the mace increase mobility more than just passive stretching.

❋ Release Fascial Tension

We hold a lot of emotion in our fascia. This practice helps release locked emotion and can be super empowering

❋ Strength
❋ A Supportive Space

Everyone in this class is new! We learn and grow together. We’re all at different levels. No comparing, just learning body awareness and what you need in the moment.

❋ Badassery (empowerment)

I often say to my students, “uppercut straight into your enemy’s chin,” or “rip the elbow straight back into the guy behind you.” I can’t help it, the movements are primal and help us tap into that primal brain. For some, that part of the brain has been dormant for too long. This practice wakes it up.
